As a Specimen Collection Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare process by accurately and efficiently collecting, labeling, and preparing patient specimens for analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Specimen Collection: Perform specimen collection procedures according to established protocols and standards.
• Labeling and Documentation: Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of all specimens collected, maintaining integrity and traceability throughout the process.
• Patient Interaction: Interact with patients in a professional and empathetic manner, explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Quality Control: Adhere to quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of collected specimens.
• Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of collection supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels for efficient operation.
• Compliance: Follow all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and guidelines.
• Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare professionals, laboratory staff, and other team members to facilitate seamless specimen collection and processing.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in phlebotomy or specimen collection preferred.
• Proven experience in specimen collection or related healthcare field is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen handling and documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic laboratory procedures is a plus.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
