SA Counselor

We are on the lookout for a driven Substance Use Counselor to become a part of our team! We welcome applications from CASAC-Ts, CASACs, MHCs, LMSWs, LCSWs, and LMFTs. The right candidate will possess excellent problem-solving abilities, be adept at working with a diverse clientele, and demonstrate strong documentation and organizational skills.

Candidates must hold a CASAC-T, CASAC, MHC, LMSW, or LCSW.

Role Overview:

The counsellor will handle a caseload of patients enrolled in the Program. Key responsibilities include intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, referrals, individual and group counselling, case management, reporting, record-keeping, and care coordination.

Key Duties:

• Manage a caseload
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions weekly
• Perform assessments and intake as required
• Develop treatment tracks catering to diverse linguistic and cultural needs of patients and families
• Participate in weekly utilization reviews per clinical and administrative guidelines
• Facilitate monthly skills workshops on chemical dependency
• Review and distribute incident reports as per agency protocol
• Provide input for employee evaluations as needed
• Prepare for weekly case conferences and reviews
• Handle assessment and intake processes
• Oversee the clinical discharge process
• Maintain a daily standard of 10 billable service units based on caseload
• Record patient data in NYC HRA STARS weekly/monthly
• Monitor patient toxicology tests
• Ensure a clean working environment

Schedule: 8-hour or 10-hour shifts 5 days a week including one weekend day
