Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical

Are you a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse seeking a fulfilling role in medical-surgical nursing? We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as RNs specializing in Medical care, where you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive nursing care to patients across various medical specialties.

Job Responsibilities:

As an RN in Medical care, you will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care to patients with diverse medical needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Patient Assessment: Conducting thorough assessments of patients' medical conditions, including physical assessments, health history reviews, and symptom evaluations. Your assessments will guide the development of individualized care plans and interventions.

  2. Medication Administration: Administering medications prescribed by healthcare providers, including oral medications, injections, intravenous therapies, and blood products. You will monitor patients for medication effectiveness and adverse reactions, providing education on medication use and side effects.

  3. Treatment Planning: Participating in the development and implementation of patient care plans, collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate treatment modalities and interventions. Your contributions to interdisciplinary care teams will optimize patient outcomes.

  4. Disease Management: Managing patients with acute and chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, respiratory disorders, and infectious diseases. You will monitor disease progression, provide patient education on self-management strategies, and facilitate referrals to specialty services as needed.

  5. Patient Education: Providing comprehensive education to patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, medication management, dietary modifications, and lifestyle changes. Your clear and empathetic communication will empower patients to participate actively in their care and promote positive health behaviors.

  6. Care Coordination: Facilitating transitions of care between healthcare settings, including admission, discharge, and follow-up care coordination. You will collaborate with case managers, social workers, and community resources to ensure seamless continuity of care for patients.

  7. Emergency Response: Responding to medical emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions, and providing life-saving measures as needed. Your ability to remain calm and focused under pressure will contribute to optimal patient outcomes in critical situations.

  8. Documentation: Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of all patient assessments, interventions, and communications in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Your thorough documentation will support continuity of care, facilitate communication among healthcare team members, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements:

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  3. Minimum of [X] years of clinical experience in nursing, with experience in medical-surgical nursing, acute care, or a related field preferred.
  4. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) may be preferred.
