Job Description:

As a Plasma Technician, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient collection of plasma from donors. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical skills in phlebotomy and donor care. The Plasma Technician ensures adherence to regulatory standards and provides a positive experience for donors throughout the plasma donation process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Donor Screening: Conduct pre-donation screening of donors, including medical history reviews and physical assessments. The Plasma Technician must ensure donors meet eligibility criteria.
• Plasma Collection: Perform venipunctures and oversee the plasma collection process, ensuring donor safety and comfort. The Plasma Technician must monitor donors throughout the procedure.
• Donor Care: Provide post-donation care and instructions to donors, managing any adverse reactions and ensuring a positive donation experience.
• Quality Control: Ensure all plasma collection procedures adhere to regulatory standards and protocols. The Plasma Technician must maintain high standards of accuracy and safety.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all plasma donations and donor interactions. The Plasma Technician must ensure all documentation complies with regulatory requirements.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all collection equipment is properly maintained and sterilized. The Plasma Technician must perform routine checks and troubleshooting.
• Education: Educate donors about the plasma donation process and the importance of their contributions. The Plasma Technician must provide clear and informative guidance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals and staff to ensure a seamless plasma collection process. The Plasma Technician must facilitate effective communication and teamwork.
• Compliance: Adhere to all healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and infection control guidelines. The Plasma Technician must maintain a high standard of professionalism and ethical conduct.

Requirements:

• Certification: Phlebotomy certification or equivalent healthcare certification.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a plasma collection or phlebotomy setting.
• Skills: Proficiency in venipuncture and donor care, excellent patient care skills, and attention to detail.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. The Plasma Technician must be able to convey information clearly to donors and healthcare team members.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physical tasks associated with plasma collection, including standing for extended periods and handling equipment.
