Physician Assistant

We are seeking a passionate Physician Assistant to join our team! The Physician Assistant will be providing comprehensive evaluations and treating the adult substance use disorder. The Physician Assistant will assess prospective patients for admissions, determine the appropriate level of care, and address any immediate ongoing health issues that can be assisted at the residential, rehabilitation, or detox level of care.

Schedule: Monday - Friday from 9:00am until 5:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations with relevant history, and health assessment based on the patient’s signs and symptoms.
• Identify the needs of the patient and make a differential diagnosis based on the clinical presentation, history, and clinical findings.
• Conduct waived testing for urine, blood work, and glucose monitoring.
• Develop a prioritized and mutually acceptable plan of care according to the written practice protocols in collaboration with the physician.
• Implement a treatment plan that is prioritized and mutually acceptable with appropriate diagnostic tests, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, patient education, and appropriate referrals as needed.
• Provide systematic follow-up by evaluating the effectiveness of various treatments provided, therapeutic processes used, and their outcome, and modifying treatments and management plans as necessary to achieve the optimum mental health goals.
• Provide educational materials and information needed to make well-informed choices and decisions by patients about their health promotion, illness prevention, and finally, illness treatment.
• Provide a safe environment for the patient, and promote patient advocacy at the individual, community, and global levels.
• Participate with other professional colleagues to provide comprehensive health care.
• Maintain accurate, legible, and confidential medical record

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Current/valid New York State Physician Assistant (PA) license
• Currently registered as a registered professional Physician Assistant in good standing
• DEA license preferred
• Hold all requirements indicated by the NY Department of Drug and Alcohol Program to perform history and physicals and prescribe medications.
• Current basic life support for health providers (BLS)
