Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. As a Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will play a crucial role in providing essential care to our patients and supporting our nursing staff. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting patients with daily activities, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. This position requires a high level of patience, empathy, and attention to detail, as you will be directly impacting the well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Ensure patient comfort and provide emotional support.
• Vital Signs Monitoring: Regularly check and record patients' vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. Report any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
• Mobility Assistance: Help patients with mobility, including transferring them from beds to wheelchairs, assisting with walking, and repositioning bedridden patients to prevent bedsores.
• Medical Support: Assist nurses with medical procedures, including wound care, catheterization, and administering medications under supervision.
• Patient Safety: Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients. Ensure that rooms are tidy, linens are changed, and medical equipment is properly sanitized.
• Documentation: Accurately document patient information, care provided, and any changes in condition. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team. Provide updates on patient status and collaborate with colleagues to ensure comprehensive care.
• Emotional Support: Offer companionship and emotional support to patients, helping to alleviate anxiety and improve their overall experience.
• Adherence to Protocols: Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure high-quality care and compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements:

• Certification: Must hold a current Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. Certification must be maintained according to state regulations.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program is mandatory.
• Experience: Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required. New graduates are welcome to apply.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work well in a team and under the supervision of nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving patients. Must be able to stand for extended periods and handle the physical demands of the job.
• Compassion: A genuine desire to help others and provide high-quality care. Must have a patient-centered approach and a compassionate demeanor.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in monitoring patient conditions and documenting care accurately.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the healthcare facility.
• CPR Certification: Current CPR certification is required. Additional certifications may be necessary depending on the specific needs of the healthcare facility.
