We are seeking a Creative Arts Therapist for our inpatient drug treatment program. The candidate should be highly motivated and dedicated, capable of conducting individual and group Creative Arts Therapy sessions that help clients identify problems, explore solutions, set realistic goals, and develop strategies that build on their strengths, promoting self-sufficiency and recovery.
Responsibilities include managing a caseload of 8-10 clients, conducting daily counselling sessions, performing admission assessments, case management, aftercare planning, crisis interventions, and developing individualized treatment plans. Proficiency in documentation and knowledge of OASAS regulations are beneficial.
Requirements: Education:
- Master's Degree in Creative Arts Therapy (or similar), or
- Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation (or similar) plus 5 years of relevant experience
License/Certification:
- NYS Licensure (LCAT) or NYS Limited Permit or Permit Eligible (CAT-P)
- Certification by the National Council on Therapeutic Recreation or the American Therapeutic Recreation Association
Experience:
- For Creative Arts Therapy permit holders: 1 year of relevant experience preferred
- For Bachelor's Degree holders: 5 years of full-time, paid work experience in a healthcare activities program
