We are currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. As a CMA, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care, performing clinical and administrative tasks, and ensuring the efficient operation of our medical practice. Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information accurately and efficiently.
Clinical Procedures: Perform clinical procedures under the supervision of a licensed healthcare provider, including venipuncture, injections, wound care, and specimen collection. Prepare and maintain medical supplies and equipment for use during patient encounters.
Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) or paper charts, documenting patient encounters, treatments, and medications prescribed. Ensure confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Patient Education: Provide patient education and instruction on health maintenance, disease prevention, and medication adherence. Answer patient questions, address concerns, and relay information from healthcare providers in a clear and compassionate manner.
Administrative Support: Perform various administrative tasks to support the efficient operation of the medical practice, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, verifying insurance coverage, and processing patient referrals and authorizations.
Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and other members of the healthcare team. Relay messages accurately and promptly between patients and providers, ensuring timely follow-up and continuity of care.
Quality Assurance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs within the medical practice. Adhere to established protocols, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Requirements:
Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited institution required. Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through a recognized credentialing organization, such as the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), required.
Experience: Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting preferred but not required for entry-level positions.
Clinical Skills: Proficiency in clinical procedures, medical terminology, and basic patient care techniques. Familiarity with medical instruments and equipment commonly used in outpatient settings.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact professionally with patients, families, coworkers, and healthcare providers in a courteous and respectful manner.
