Clinical Services Supervisor

Role Overview Under the guidance of the Clinical Director, the Clinical Services Supervisor oversees all clinical operations of an inpatient substance abuse treatment program. This includes directing, supervising, and monitoring the clinical staff responsible for providing treatment services and aftercare planning for clients. The supervisor also engages in individual therapy, treatment planning, case management, client advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works with the clinical director and counselors to establish care plans for program participants.
• Manages the daily activities of counseling staff to deliver family-focused, trauma-informed mental health services.
• Offers individual and group counseling and takes part in case conferences.
• Reviews and approves all clinical curricula and program materials for appropriateness.
• Ensures counseling staff are trained in any new curriculum provided to clients.
• Supervises the assessment of new patients, schedules treatment activities, assigns caseloads, and evaluates clinicians' performance.
• Reviews and approves clinical documentation and conducts regular quality assurance checks.
• Evaluates staff performance, enhances strengths, and addresses weaknesses.
• Acts as the liaison with families and provides recommendations for program improvements.
• Conducts regular chart reviews to ensure compliance with agency regulations.
• Attends meetings called by the clinical director and contributes to program development discussions.
• Participates in quality assurance and improvement activities and suggests corrective plans to the clinical director.
• Maintains performance and conduct standards per organizational expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• NYS Licensure/Certification
• Qualified Health Professional (QHP)
• 3-5 years of experience in substance abuse treatment counseling and staff supervision
