Under the Clinical Director's supervision, the Clinical Services Supervisor oversees all clinical aspects of an inpatient substance abuse treatment program. This role involves directing, supervising, and monitoring clinical staff in providing substance abuse treatment services and aftercare planning. Additionally, the Clinical Supervisor provides individual therapy, develops treatment plans, manages cases, advocates for clients, and offers counseling and crisis intervention.
Tasks And Responsibilities:
- Works with the clinical director and counselors to establish care plans for participants.
- Directs counseling staff in delivering family-focused, trauma-informed mental health services to inpatients.
- Provides individual and group counseling and participates in case conferences.
- Reviews and approves the clinical appropriateness of curricula and program materials.
- Ensures staff are trained in new curricula.
- Oversees new client assessments, schedules treatment activities, assigns caseloads, and monitors staff performance.
- Reviews and approves clinical documentation, ensuring timely and proper record-keeping.
- Evaluates staff performance, enhancing strengths and addressing weaknesses.
- Acts as the program's liaison with families and suggests improvements.
- Continuously assesses clients to identify changing treatment needs.
- Conducts chart reviews to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Attends meetings with the clinical director to discuss program improvements.
- Engages in quality assurance activities and recommends corrective actions.
- Maintains performance and conduct standards in line with organizational expectations.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in medicine, psychology, social work, counseling, or related field
- NYS Licensure/Certification
- Qualified health professional (QHP)
- 3-5 years of experience in substance abuse treatment counseling and staff supervision
