Under the direction of the Program Director, the Clinical Supervisor oversees all clinical elements of an inpatient substance abuse treatment program, supervising clinical staff and managing substance abuse treatment services and aftercare planning. The Clinical Supervisor also offers individual therapy, treatment planning, case management, client advocacy, counselling, and crisis intervention.
This part-time role requires availability for evening and/or weekend shifts.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with the Program Director and counsellors to plan the continuum of care for clients.
- Directs the counselling staff in providing trauma-informed, family-centered mental health services.
- Provides individual and group counselling and takes part in case conferences.
- Approves and reviews clinical program materials, overseeing the acquisition of new resources.
- Ensures counseling staff are trained in new curricula.
- Supervises client assessments, schedules treatment activities, assigns caseloads, and evaluates clinicians.
- Reviews and approves clinical documentation, conducting quality assurance checks.
- Assesses and evaluates staff performance, developing strengths and minimizing weaknesses.
- Acts as a liaison with families, recommending program improvements.
- Continuously assesses client needs and treatment strategies.
- Conducts chart reviews to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Attends meetings to discuss and recommend program improvements.
- Participates in quality assurance and utilization review activities, proposing corrective actions.
- Maintains performance and conduct standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in medicine, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing, or a related field.
- Certification as a substance abuse counselor.
- Qualified health professional (QHP) status.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in substance abuse treatment counseling and supervision.
