Clinical Manager

Under the guidance of the Program Director, the Clinical Manager oversees all clinical elements of an inpatient-based substance abuse treatment program by managing, supervising, and monitoring the clinical staff's work in delivering substance abuse treatment services and aftercare planning for assigned clients. The role includes providing individual therapy, treatment planning, case management, client advocacy, counselling, and crisis intervention.

Part-time Supervisor role for evening and/or weekend shifts.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with the program director and counsellors to determine the care continuum for participants.
• Directs counselling staff in providing family-focused, trauma-informed mental health services.
• Provides individual and group counselling and participates in case conferences.
• Reviews and approves curricula and other program materials for clinical suitability.
• Ensures counselling staff are trained in the curriculum delivered to clients.
• Supervises the assessment of new clients, schedules treatment activities, assigns caseloads, and monitors clinical staff performance.
• Reviews and approves all clinical documentation and conducts regular quality assurance checks.
• Evaluate staff and develop methods to enhance strengths and minimize weaknesses.
• Acts as the program's liaison with families and offers program development recommendations.
• Provides ongoing client assessments to identify changing treatment needs.
• Conducts regular chart reviews to ensure timely and compliant record-keeping.
• Attends program director meetings to discuss program revisions and improvements.
• Participates in quality assurance, quality improvement, and utilization review activities.
• Maintains performance and conduct standards according to organizational expectations.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in a related field
• Certification as a substance abuse counselor
• Qualified health professional (QHP)
• 3-5 years of experience in substance abuse treatment and staff supervision
