Supervised by the Clinical Director, the Clinical Director manages all clinical aspects of an inpatient-based substance abuse treatment program. This involves directing, supervising, and monitoring clinical staff in delivering substance abuse treatment services and aftercare planning for clients, as well as providing individual therapy, treatment planning, case management, client advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention.
Tasks And Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the clinical director and counselors on care plans for program participants.
- Oversees counseling staff in providing family-focused, trauma-informed mental health services to inpatients.
- Offers individual and group counseling and participates in case conferences.
- Approves the clinical relevance of program curricula and materials.
- Ensures staff are trained in new curricula.
- Supervises assessments of new clients, schedules treatment, assigns caseloads, and evaluates staff performance.
- Reviews and approves clinical documentation, ensuring timely record-keeping through quality assurance.
- Evaluates and develops staff, enhancing strengths and addressing weaknesses.
- Serves as liaison with families and suggests program improvements.
- Continuously assesses clients to identify and address changing needs.
- Conducts chart reviews to ensure timely and compliant record-keeping.
- Attends meetings with the clinical director to discuss program enhancements.
- Engages in quality assurance and recommends corrective actions.
- Maintains organizational performance and conduct standards.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field such as medicine, psychology, or social work
- NYS Licensure/Certification
- Qualified health professional (QHP)
- 3-5 years of experience in substance abuse counseling and staff supervision
