Clinical Director

Job Role Under the supervision of the Clinical Director, the Clinical Director manages all clinical functions of an inpatient substance abuse treatment program. This involves directing, supervising, and monitoring the clinical staff, and providing services such as individual therapy, treatment planning, case management, client advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention.

Duties:

• Collaborates with the clinical director and counselors to establish the continuum of care.
• Directs counseling staff to provide family-focused, trauma-informed mental health services.
• Provides individual and group counseling and participates in case conferences.
• Reviews and approves clinical materials and curricula.
• Ensures counseling staff are trained on new curriculum materials.
• Supervises the assessment of new patients, schedules treatment activities, assigns caseloads, and monitors clinician performance.
• Reviews and approves clinical documentation and conducts quality assurance reviews.
• Evaluates and improves staff performance.
• Acts as the liaison with families and recommends program improvements.
• Conducts chart reviews to ensure compliance with agency regulations.
• Attends clinical director meetings and contributes to program development discussions.
• Participates in quality assurance and improvement activities.
• Upholds performance and conduct standards.

Requirements:

• NYS Licensure/Certification
• Qualified Health Professional (QHP)
• 3-5 years of experience in substance abuse treatment counseling and staff supervision
