The Clinical Supervisor, under the Program Director's supervision, manages all clinical facets of an inpatient-based substance abuse treatment program. This includes supervising clinical staff and overseeing the delivery of substance abuse treatment services and aftercare planning. The Clinical Supervisor also provides individual therapy, treatment planning, case management, client advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention.
This part-time position requires availability during evenings and/or weekends.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with the Program Director and counselors to decide on the continuum of care.
- Leads counseling staff in offering trauma-informed, family-oriented mental health services.
- Provides individual and group counseling and participates in case conferences.
- Reviews and approves clinical program materials and oversees the acquisition of new resources.
- Trains counselling staff on new curricula.
- Supervises client assessments, schedules treatment activities, assigns caseloads, and evaluates clinical staff.
- Reviews and approves clinical documentation, ensuring quality and timely record-keeping.
- Assesses staff performance, enhancing strengths and addressing weaknesses.
- Liaises with families and recommends program enhancements.
- Conducts client assessments to identify needs for treatment strategies.
- Performs chart reviews to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Participates in meetings to discuss program improvements and suggest recommendations.
- Engages in quality assurance and utilization review activities, proposing corrective plans.
- Upholds performance and conduct standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in medicine, psychology, social work, counselling, nursing, or related field.
- Certification as a substance abuse counsellor.
- Must be a qualified health professional (QHP).
- 3 to 5 years of experience in substance abuse treatment counselling and supervision.
