Role Description The Clinical Supervisor, under the Clinical Coordinator oversight, supervises all clinical aspects of an inpatient substance abuse treatment program. This includes directing, supervising, and monitoring clinical staff, providing individual therapy, treatment planning, case management, client advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the clinical director and counselors on care plans.
- Directs counseling staff in delivering family-focused, trauma-informed mental health services.
- Offers individual and group counseling and participates in case conferences.
- Reviews and approves clinical program materials.
- Ensures counseling staff are trained on new curriculum.
- Supervises patient assessments, treatment scheduling, caseload assignment, and clinician performance.
- Reviews and approves clinical documentation and performs quality assurance reviews.
- Evaluates staff performance and develops strategies for improvement.
- Acts as the liaison with families and recommends program improvements.
- Conducts regular chart reviews to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Attends clinical director meetings and contributes to program improvement.
- Participates in quality assurance and improvement activities.
- Maintains performance and conduct standards.
Qualifications:
- NYS Licensure/Certification
- Qualified Health Professional (QHP)
- 3-5 years of experience in substance abuse treatment counseling and staff supervision
