Behavioral Health Counselor

Join our team as a self-motivated Substance Use Counselor! We are accepting applications from CASAC-Ts, CASACs, MHCs, LMSWs, LCSWs, and LMFTs. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work with a diverse population, and excellent documentation and organizational skills.

Candidates must possess a CASAC-T, CASAC, MHC, LMSW, or LCSW.

Job Summary:

The counsellor will manage a patient caseload within the Program, performing intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, referrals, individual and group counselling, case management, reporting, record-keeping, and care coordination.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions weekly
• Perform assessments and intakes as necessary
• Develop treatment tracks for diverse linguistic and cultural needs of patients and families
• Participate in weekly utilization reviews as per clinical and administrative guidelines
• Facilitate monthly workshops on chemical dependency
• Review and distribute incident reports according to agency protocol
• Provide input for employee evaluations when requested
• Prepare for weekly case conferences and reviews
• Handle assessment and intake processes
• Oversee the clinical discharge process
• Maintain a standard of 10 billable service units per day based on caseload
• Record patient data in NYC HRA STARS weekly/monthly
• Monitor patient toxicology tests
• Maintain a clean work environment
