Addiction Counselor

We are hiring a self-driven Substance Use Counselor to join our team! We are accepting applications from CASAC-Ts, CASACs, MHCs, LMSWs, LCSWs, and LMFTs. The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work with a diverse population, and excellent documentation and organizational capabilities.

Applicants must possess a CASAC-T, CASAC, MHC, LMSW, or LCSW.

Job Description:

The counsellor will oversee a caseload of patients in the Program. Responsibilities include intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, referrals, individual and group counselling, case management, reporting, record-keeping, and care coordination.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload
• Conduct weekly individual and group counseling sessions
• Perform assessments and intakes as necessary
• Develop treatment tracks that address diverse language and cultural needs of patients and families
• Participate in weekly utilization reviews according to clinical and administrative protocols
• Facilitate monthly workshops on chemical dependency
• Review, process, and distribute incident reports as per agency protocol
• Provide input for employee evaluations when requested
• Prepare for weekly case conferences and reviews
• Handle the assessment and intake process
• Oversee the clinical discharge process
• Maintain a standard of 10 billable service units per day based on caseload
• Record patient data in NYC HRA STARS weekly/monthly
• Monitor patient toxicology tests
• Maintain a clean work environment

Schedule: 8-hour or 10-hour shifts 5 days a week including one weekend day
